Meet the Team

Richard Taylor

Since 1993, when he gained a cable jointing apprenticeship with London Electricity, Richard’s career has seen him working for BICC Cables, Pirelli Construction and Walgraves Contractors. Richard is also trained in Construction Fitting.

Richard worked with cables made by BICC Cables, including PILC, EPR, XLPE, Fluid Filled and PPL Cables up to 400KV, as a Second Jointer and then a Lead Jointer. Richard has worked in both laboratory and site conditions. Before forming D & R Jointing Ltd, Richard worked at Walgraves Contractors, where he worked on Lamps, Link Box Replacements, New Services, Site Work and both PILC and XLPE HVs.

In October 2001, along with David Bradley, Richard formed D & R Jointing. During this time, they have sub-contracted work from companies including UKPN, J Murphy & Sons Ltd, Murphy Ltd, Compass, Freedom, Reach Active, Modus and UK Power Solutions. They have also worked alongside UKPN Engineering staff on Primary Sub-Station projects.

David Bradley

David Bradley is the co-founder of D & R Jointing, and offers more than 15 years’ experience in the electrical jointing industry.

After completing an apprenticeship with London Electricity in 1993, David went on to work for the Overseas Division at BICC Cables. This saw him working on various contracts across Europe and South East Asia, working with both XLPE and Fluid filled cables up to 200kv. During this early period in his career, David gained valuable experience on the Transmission area of cable jointing.

In 1999 David moved to Walgrave Contractors, where he worked within numerous departments including lamps, link box replacements, new services, site work, and HVs – both PILC & XLPE.

It was in 2001 that D & R Jointing services was born, initially employing 6 staff. Over the years, the company has worked on both LV and HV contracts for numerous companies, building an excellent reputation with EDF Contracting Services, McNicholas and Murphys.

Gareth Coulter

Gareth Coulter has been with D & R Jointing since 2018, and offers more than 8 years’ experience in the electrical jointing industry.

After completing a project management apprentiship with a well known ICP Gareth continued to develop his skills with them whilst managing multiple ICP projects from design to completion across multi million pound sites. Gareth then moved to another developing ICP where he progressed to develop his knowledge on the direct DNO installations. 

Since being with D&R Gareth has developed his knowledge within Health and Safety which is of a interest to him and has succeeded in obtaining his Nebosh, IOSH and IEMA. This has enabled him to undertake the management the H&S of D&R which he has now done for a number of years.
