Commissioning
It is important that all electrical distribution systems are tested during their operational life. Initially, this must be done during installation and final commissioning, and after that, it is best done routinely as part of a scheduled maintenance programme, or after prolonged times of no use.
Commissioning tests ensure that the installation operates as designed, but also that all standby equipment and protection systems are fully functional at all times.
